First Time DataFerrett Users:
-
Click here to RUN the SecurityPolicy (to Save/Copy/Paste). See below for more description of the SecurityPolicy.
- Click here to Launch DataFerrett
IF you start the DataFerrett (from the link above) and get a message that you will "not be able to copy, paste, or save your DataFerrett Sessions" OR your security system does not allow an executable file to run (.exe):
You can manually add the SecurityPolicy file: Right click this link and "Save Target As" (IE) or "Save Link As" (Firefox) to the location indicated below. You will change the "Save as type:" to "All Files" - > change file name to: dot java dot policy (.java.policy)
OR
Just click on and select Run and the file will know where it is supposed to go in the correct user's profile directory.
For example the file will go in one of the configurations below:
C:\..\Users\username on Windows 7 systems
C:\Users\username on Vista systems
C:\Documents and Settings\username\ on Windows 2000, XP systems
C:\Windows\Profiles\username on multiuser Windows 95 and 98 systems
C:\Windows on single-user Windows 95 and 98 systems
C:\WINNT\Profiles\username on Windows NT, XP systems
Save As -> "Save as All Files" in the drop down.
Note to Applet Users: pop up blockers will block extraction pages. Make note that either A.) Pop up blockers need to be turned off or B.) Internet Tools->Internet Options-> Privacy tab-> Settings-> add dataferrett.census.gov and/or to your preferred sites.
.
